I did make it out paddling last weekend but went very easy for only 6 miles as I am still seeking treatment for epicondylitis via Western Dry Needling and chiropractic. I’m easing my way back into the gym and am trying to find the right balance between getting in a workout that can deliver results while not overdoing it on the tendons in the arms and elbows. I’m finding it very difficult to not workout the way I used to.
An upside to all of this is finding alternate sources of cardio. This weekend, that involved two amazing hikes in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia with a few, fine, amazing young people, two of whom are my adult children.
The first was a hike up Humpback Rocks for a breathtaking view and then once again hiking the Blue Ridge Tunnel just outside of Crozet, Virginia.
If I can’t be paddling in a kayak, then hiking is the next best thing. Rarely do I have a bad experience in the great outdoors.
