Kayak racing, training and overtraining – Dave The Kayaker

With my first race coming up this Saturday at the Little D On The Monocacy Race, I fear I might have over-trained a bit. Moreso in the gym than on the water.

My tendons have been aching from the outside of my elbows to the outside of my wrists this week, so I backed way off in the gym, did one last training run in the Thunderbolt-X kayak this afternoon, and plan on taking it easy most of this week to allow my body the opportunity to rest and recover. When I do hit the gym this week, I will focus on legs and lower body and if I do anything else, it will be with light loads and light sets.

See you in Frederick, MD on Saturday!

Done with Winter training and ready for Spring kayak racing!
